James M. HawleyJim's primary area of practice is retiree medical valuation and design. In addition to providing general health and welfare consulting services, he has completed many comprehensive health and welfare re-design projects. In addition to his direct clients, Jim also serves as an adjunct consultant for several other actuarial firms.

Jim has been extensively involved in retiree medical valuation and consulting since 1991. Prior to establishing the HCG, he was employed by a national consulting firm for seven years. While there, he was responsible for developing the retiree medical valuation practice.

Jim was also involved in a variety of other projects such as the design and implementation of health & welfare and retirement programs, long-term disability valuations, renewal analysis, carrier selection, and client management.

Jim's other job experience includes working as a consultant for a local consulting firm in the Philadelphia, PA area. His duties included analysis of insurance products, calculation of claim reserves, and preparation of annual statements. Jim was also employed by a national insurance company in suburban Philadelphia where he was the Director of Financial Reporting.

Jim is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He has been an accredited actuary since 1988 and has over 30 years experience in the business. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

 

David J. Tintera
Actuarial Analyst

David J. TinteraDavid joined the Hawley Consulting Group on a part-time basis starting in 2008.  He has been a full time employee since January 2011. 

He currently works as an Actuarial Consultant with the Hawley Consulting Group where he utilizes his expertise in all services provided by HCG.  His primary areas of responsibility are retiree medical actuarial valuations and actuarial attestations.  

David graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics.  He has passed the Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams P and FM and is pursuing an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.

 

 

Erica K. Stansbury
Actuarial Analyst

Erica K. StansburyErica joined the Hawley Consulting Group in July 2013.

She currently works as an Actuarial Analyst with the Hawley Consulting Group where she is rapidly gaining expertise in all services provided by HCG. Her primary areas of responsibility are general health and welfare consulting and Mental Health Parity Testing. Erica graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial mathematics. She has passed the Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam P and is pursuing an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
